| Reputed Plum blossoms of Meiling Area. |
Earlier, Meiling Area was famous for the sweet pulp of banana, and was hence called the banana mountain. However, during the Japanese colonization era, residents planted up to two hundred thousand plum trees, thus converting the area into the largest plum forest region in southern Taiwan.
