Dongshan Coffee is not bitter, sour or astringent, but rather, can moisten your throat and let you have a sweet aftertaste, while its main species would be the Arabica Coffee trees. With a strong fragrant and mellow flavor, such coffee is of excellent quality and worthy for public to have a taste again and again.
Leisure scenic spots in the Nanshi village include the SenWho farm, which covers an ecological area, a leisure area and an agricultural area. Inside this farm, there are hefty species of plants and bounteous natural resources, while special personnel are arranged to provide the guiding narrations. This temple in which Lu Dongbin is worshipped as main deity was the original ancestral temple of Lyu Xian Zu, the deity worshipped throughout Taiwan, and was built some four hundred years ago. To the left of the palatial new temple is the old temple still preserved. In the old temple, there is a display of three monuments as historical relics, as well as of the stone ancestral deity, stone swords and stone cups that have been excavated in recent years.

There are even more scenic spots in the private houses of Gaoyuan Village. A typical example would be the Brine Spring in which there is a ceaseless gush of cold spring water throughout the year and the water can have the effect of moist, soften or smoothen your skin if you use it to wipe your body. The WuLong Garden stands at an altitudinal height of over 600 meters with the Wujhih (Five Fingers) Mountain enskying behind it and the ChiaNan Plain lying across in front of it. When you arrive at this high spot, you will enjoy an 360o view of all the scenic spots below, where there would be sea of clouds in both autumn and winter, encircling fog and brume in the spring days, and cool breeze in the summer, thus shaping this place just like a secular fairyland. The heaven pool is formed by the fountain gushing from an ancient crater, is encircled by both the Wujhih (Five Fingers) Mountain and Guixing (Tortoise Shape) Mountain. In this tranquil and sequestered environment, there is a zigzag bridge of nine turnings built of logs in the center of pool water. When you step on this bridge, you can watch the frolicking of tortoises and frogs in the water, a scenario which will let you forget to go back.

Dongshan Township is endowed with both a pure and clean source of water and abundant industries. What produced here includes not only the famous Dongshan Coffee, but also the sweet and palatable Dongshan longans, while the local fruit peasants have adopted the traditional earth kiln baking method to fume the longans into the aromatic and appealing dried longans. Further, the green peel PonKans grown in Dongshan can have soft and juicy pulp with low sourness and high sweetness. Additionally, oranges produced here can have sufficient sweetness and a lot of juice, as well as the dense fragrance and hard fruit granules with the excellent taste! |
