The limpid water in the pool, the cerulean sky, the freshly green piedmont and the intoxicating bay.
The limpid water in the pool, the cerulean sky, the freshly green piedmont and the intoxicating bay.
Any tourist visiting Taitung shall never fail to have a taste of the widely renowned Donghe Meat Buns. Yet what famous in the township of Donghe would not only include the meat buns. Under the assisting construction of the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, the Beijunjie area locating at the piedmont of the Dulan Mountain has been drastically changed from an inferior environment of sterility to a fertile land of abundant outputs and flouring flowers & woods.

Another scenic spot of a very high popularity in Beijunjie would the Dulan Mountain with an altitudinal height of 1191 meters. Looking into the north from any corner of the Taitung city, you can well see the Dulan Mountain of an equilateral triangle shape, while the top of this mountain is surrounded by clouds and mist all the year. A holy mountain in the eyes of Beinan and Amis people, this mountain was once a place where the rarely seen sapphires were discovered. Yet according to a tale of the aboriginal residents here, there is a boa constrictor safeguarding this place of hidden treasures and anyone who wants to dig out the gem stones on this mountain would certainly lose his direction. This story has added a mysterious color to all the sagas about the Dulan Mountain as a holy mountain.

The Dulan Mountain surrounded by clouds and mist all the year is telling the mysterious and touching legends about the East Coast.

Warm in winter and cool in summer Great happiness of sitting in the sea and heaven at the same time

Seedless Peanuts are blooming with the small gold flowers.

The Beijunjie at the piedmont of Dulan Mountain can provide the superexcellent vision to overlook the east sea coast. Looking eastwards from the Sea-Sight Pavilion at the half mountainside, you can catch the sight of the Shanyuan Bay with the sparkling white sands and Dulan Bay with the rugged strange rocks as if they are the Buddhist Doctrine Guardians at both left and right sides to serve as the shelters for both Dulan Mountain and Beijunjie. Gazing in the distance, you can well find the nearby Green Island, which is remotely opposite to both Shanyuan Bay and Dulan Bay as if there are two dragons competing for one bead. As the Dulan Mountain stands on its north side, the Beijunjie area can embrace the blast of south winds in the summer and avoid the invasion of north winds in the winter. Thus, it is a happy land where it is warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

A leisure village. A full basket of tropical fruits

Except the local weather which is warm in winter and cool in summer, the Beijunjie has also benefited from the direction of SWCB to shift from an area where only coconuts could be grown in the former days, to a place where such fruits as jackfruits, sugar apples and mangoes can be also harvested. Meanwhile, such a shift has either facilitated the transformation of local traditional industries.
